*CLAP CLAP* Rey. Exactly my point of view.

Like I said before - when I was playing in some IWAY PuGs just yesterday we were called noobs, stupid, igays etc. around 20 times, yet we didn't lose to the people calling us noobs, stupid, igays and so forth - we've lost to groups that have shown us respect and effectively countered our build and that's why I'm also feeling the greatest respect towards these players.

Why not? It's fun - of course if you aren't playing it all the time and just farming fame, in which case it isn't fun at all. And yeah - I like the tactic used - at least it IS a tactic. Some teams I've met in my GW career didn't seem to have any tactic at all. ;-) Like I said before - I'm playing IWAY only in Tomb PuGs - so I'm not bored of it. =)

I agree that you need to take the corpses away and kill the rangers fast. But if the iway has a lvl 11 EoE, 52 damage, then good luck. An edge bomb will be created and balling up won't do crap. I played with my friend's guild in tombs with something like this and if it looks like were going to lose, BAM!, everyone is dead except for our N/Mo with hard rez.

GL in organizing this with a pug. Unless there willing to listen, I don't see this happening in pug.

Well there's more strategies to understand against IWAY than just packng shadow of fear or spiteful.

Have strategy for taking down the key spirits NR and Pred and possibly EoE
Have a strategy for disabling the trappers (e denial or aoe spells)
Have a strategy for removing/avoiding disease
Have a strategy for reducing war damage (blinds work best or shadow, wards, aegis)
Have a corpse control strategy (consume corpse)

Have a strategy for different maps - 1 v 1, relics, holding maps.

Make sure everyone has a clear role against IWAY before you start. IWAY is a formula, so solve it before you start.

People that complain about their builds getting beaten by it obviously don't have a strong enough build, or good enough players to be competitive in tombs.
There are a lot of Korean teams (as an example) running gank builds too, so if you can't beat IWAY, then you've got no chance against these sides.

Balling is the stupidest thing you could do, it takes alot of co-ordination of the chars to wand a person and play at the same time by switching back and forth constantly. It only takes one spike trap to knock your whole team down + cripple and throw down some more traps and aoe while the warriors just pound your monks.

Top Priorities on IWAY:
1. Natures
2. Trappers
3. Corpses
4. Pred
5. All other spirits
6. Tained Necro
7. Orders
8. Warriors

You can leave it like that, if you can divine your team and take out the first 5 asap, then its shitty monks thats making you lose

Finally, someone else that appreciates the beauty of Warrior's Cunning in an IWAY build.

I love watching a monk stand there, blocking my attacks, and then once IWAY hits, I cast Cunning, then my string of Flurry/Penetrating Blow/Eviscerate/Executioner's Strike comes out, and they're dead. Awesome to watch.

And yes, there are ways to counter IWAY, but the average PUG will not have those skills.

So many people say don't kill the pets, but it's hard to coordinate this in a PUG, because there are always at least 2-3 people in the group who never learned how to read. Even if 2 of the pets die, an IWAY group can charge in and start wreaking havoc.

Kiting and focus fire is all you really need.

You don't need to ball
You don't need Aegis chains
You don't need anti-warrior hexes.

Just have a few copies of WaF (you did bring them for relics runs right?) and a windborne or two.

See the warrior(s) coming at you? Run away.
See the warrior(s) using sprint? Kite through WaF.

Focus fire and bring down the warriors ASAP.
Kill the spirits.

Learn to pre-kite.

Don't bother with the necros unless they are dumb enough to allow themselves to get within range.

As long as you can keep your group organized and not break down into a mob, that's all you really need to do.

I agree, balling will just make cyclone axe hurt even more. Even with aegis if you all stand in one spot cyclone axe will most likely hit about 4 of you.

Actually there is a strategy against IWAY that I like.

Kill Edge first and any spirits with it.
Once that is done, kill or deny the trapper to prevent damage and debuffing to your team.
Then kill the warriors first then Frozen Soil their arses.
Why? Because dead warriors can't IWAY. With 2-3 warriors dead, their primary damage threat is reduced considerably. You can even leave the necros alive.
If you get 2-3 warriors down before Frozen Soil, that will leave them with 2-3 warriors left. Your monk can handle that, especially when the other warrior is looking to kill Frozen Soil
Double Frozen Soil FTW

think about it and give it a try

Don't ball. Don't waste energy on Aegis unless your team is well away from Dead Bodies.

I rewrote this whole article It might help.

key to defeating iway is playing it seriously.

unlock the mystery of iway. as one of my guildies put, "IWAY is God's gift".

if you see things beyond trapping, chopping, ordering and tainting, you're one step closer.

This is the strategy I use for beating IWAY. (it has never failed me yet)
1. DONT ATTACK THE PETS
2. have 1 warrior take out spirits while everyone else takes out the rangers and necros.
3. Kill the warriors and when the necros or ranger is rezzed kill them right away.
(I always make ts only groups so that helps with coordination. If you dont have it then get it)

How to beat iway: TEAMWORK
What not to do because of iway: CHANGE YOUR WHOLE BUILD

What to do against iway on altars etc.= use their retardedness to your own advantage, they do attack whatever is directly infront of them!

What to do against iway on relic runs.= kill before running, stay by the relic!

!!! ! ! !!!! ! ! ! ! ! ! .

balls dont work if the iway has a tainted curse with rigor and mark of pain. it just helps em die easier. i did a similar thing while i did the iway thing and a friend tried it with a different iway team. we worked out that he did over 4000 dmg to the opposite team (not sure if total or per person) no monk can keep up with that. consuming corpses wont help either as its a curse and if they us a cover curse or hit the ghostly hero/priest u wont know till its too late
